The Bombardment Review

The Bombardment is based on a true story set in World War 2. It is about a bombing mission that accidentally targets a school which killed many children in Copenhagen. All of the actors in this film were brilliant throughout, and the cinematography was awesome. The music in this film is well done and really sets the tone for the film throughout.

The first half of the film is slow at first, but as the film went on I really started to connect with the characters emotionally. The second half of the film was emotional and hard hitting, and it really put in perspective of the reality of war. Towards the end we see the aftermath of the bombing which was the saddest part of the film. We see the damage it has done to the families of the children that have died, and this was because the pilot was not concentrating and the consequences of this is heartbreaking.

What I took away from this film is that war has a big impact on the population, especially the innocent people who are just trying to live there lives. The innocent always suffer in war, because of the people in power. The people in power of a country always have something to gain in war, whether that is money, oil or invading a country because they have different ideologies. The countless children that die and are scarred for life because of war is really heart breaking. This film is very relevant to what is going on in the world today, and it makes me think of what the people of these countries are going through. And how many innocent lives are being taken because of a war they did not start.

Overall this film was a nice surprise. I did not expect the wonderful performances by all of the actors, and the story line was hard hitting and kept me engaged throughout. I did not know about this event that happened in World War 2, so it was also educational for me as well.

Verdict - 8/10

It takes a while for the film to kick into gear, but when it does it is emotional and hard hitting. The performances from all of the actors is outstanding and the story is really well done. I would recommend giving this film a watch on Netflix if you like true stories, and films that show the reality of war.
