Metal Lords is about two teenage misfits who go into a competition called the battle of the bands, so they can be worshipped liked gods. They devote themselves to metal. This film stars Jaeden Martell, and it is in the drama/music genre.
You don't have to like metal music to enjoy the film. I don't particularly listen to metal, but I still liked it overall. The performance from Jaeden really carried the film for me, and his acting made up for the plot. I'm not saying the plot is bad, but it was not the most engaging in my opinion. Metal Lords is supposed to be about metal music, but I feel that a fan of this genre will be disappointed because it is not really about the music. I think the film is a bit too long, and at some points it felt like a slog to get through.
The side characters did not have much too them, and they felt bland because of this. I don't really have much to say about this film other than I enjoyed it, and it was fun to watch. If you want something to watch to pass the time, then I believe this film will be perfect for that. It's not a brilliant, and I can see why some people may not enjoy it.
Verdict - 5/10
Metal Lords is a fun film to watch, but I would not recommend this if you are not particularly into metal music. You can still enjoy it without liking metal, but it's not for everyone. The plot is not the most complex, but the performance from Jaeden Martell saves the film for me. If you are struggling to find something to watch on Netflix, than I would recommend giving Metal Lords a go.
