Moon Knight EP5 Review

Moon Knight

Throughout this episode we are not sure if Mark is crazy or not because we keep on going back and forth between Mark in the psych ward, and Mark and Steven trying to balance the scales. They are trying to balance the scales because they are dead, and they have to pass over. They revisit there past so they can reflect on there lives.

One of the memories Mark revisits is the death of his brother, and his mother blaming him because he was suppose to be looking after him when the accident happened. We also find out that Mark's mother used to beat him, and to cope with the traumatic experiences he made up Steven so he could escape from the world for a bit. This was a very big twist, and I don't think many people watching the show predicted this.

This episode also shows us how Mark became Khonshu's avatar, and became Moon Knight. Khonshu manipulated Mark into it when he was vulnerable, and was going to kill himself in Egypt after the death of Layla's father. The last scene we see Steven gets thrown over the boat trying to protect Mark, and he turns into stone which balances the scales for Mark.

Verdict - 9/10

This was the best episode so far in my opinion. It got pretty dark at times, and it was also a very emotional episode. I liked seeing Mark's childhood because we got to see how much he went through, and what led him to becoming Moon Knight. Also the big twist with Mark making up Steven really made this episode excellent, because I did not expect it. I can't believe that there is only 1 episode left, because I have no idea where this will all lead to in the finale. Hopefully it will live up to the expectations that I have for the ending of this show.
